Anthony C. Gittens, MA, PhD

Community Clinical Manager

is a public health leader and health equity advocate with a strong track record in program design, community engagement, and population health management, both domestically and internationally. He brings extensive experience from diverse roles in health systems, government agencies, and academic institutions, where he has led initiatives to improve access to care, strengthen health literacy, and address disparities in underserved communities.

Before joining Inside Edge, Anthony served as a Senior Public Health Strategist with the U.S. Navy, where he collaborated with multidisciplinary teams to develop strategic health promotion plans, evaluate program outcomes, and train clinical and non-clinical staff on evidence-based interventions. Before that, he served as a Manager at Contra Costa Health Services, part of the leadership team on the frontlines of the COVID-19 pandemic response, guiding strategy, coordinating resources, and ensuring equitable access to testing, vaccination, and community outreach. Anthony has also worked on a wide range of global community health initiatives across Latin America, Africa, Ukraine, and Thailand, focusing on capacity building, health education, and culturally responsive interventions.

Anthony holds both a PhD and MA in  Public Health from Loma Linda University.

Outside of work, Anthony enjoys training Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, working in his garden, and traveling with his family; always seeking opportunities to connect with people and cultures around the world.

“Make Well Known” means ensuring that health equity is not just a concept but a lived reality, amplifying community voices, translating data into action, and fostering trust so that every individual has the knowledge, access, and opportunity to achieve their best health.
